Kanye West brought back his celebrity-friendly Sunday Service just in time to celebrate the return of Marilyn Manson.
The rapper marked its return this past Sunday (Oct. 29) by having Manson at his side nodding along as Justin Bieber prayed over the service. The shock rocker has been publicly accused of being a satanist since he rose to fame in the ’90s, and was even blamed for Columbine High School’s infamous 1999 shooting after it was discovered that Eric Harris from Columbine listened to him religiously. In recent years, Manson’s relationship with belief systems have been questioned again when he chose to collaborate with West on “Jail Pt’ 2” off of Ye’s latest album Donda.
Marilyn Manson Investigation still on going
The 52-year old is also still under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Warner has denied all allegations of abuse and assault, but an LAPD spokesperson said “The department takes these types of cases very seriously.”
“It’s heartbreaking. It makes me sick,” she says. “How is this the world we live in?”Marilyn Manson accuser Smithline, 37
The first case, filed by an unnamed victim, was dropped in December. According to court documents, the alleged sexual assault took place on May 10th at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The complaint states that Manson performed oral sex on the plaintiff without her consent and later penetrated her vaginally with a “sharp object” while masturbating.
West has drawn the ire of many Christians with his decision to offer an invite-only service on Sundays. The music, which is more performance art than worshiping God in fidelity and obedience seems fit for himself rather than other people at this event where expensive merch like $225 sweaters are available for purchase (which might not even be related).
